Step into the splendour of ancient Egypt with this handcrafted Usekh collar, inspired by artefacts uncovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun and depictions found on temples, statues, and papyri. This iconic broad collar was one of the most recognisable symbols of divine and royal power, worn by gods, pharaohs, nobles, and high officials throughout Egyptian history.

A Piece Steeped in History

The Usekh (meaning “wide” or “broad”) was far more than decorative jewellery. It represented protection, status, and connection to the divine. Depicted endlessly in Egyptian art—from wall reliefs and sarcophagi to statues and ceremonial scenes—the collar was a staple of both fashion and religious symbolism.

Its significance is nowhere more evident than in the treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb, where dozens of broad collars were discovered among his burial regalia. These pieces were crafted from gold, faience, glass, semi-precious stones and were designed to accompany the young king into the afterlife, reflecting his eternal sovereignty.

This recreation draws inspiration from those royal examples, particularly the blue-and-gold motifs associated with lapis-lazuli, a stone reserved for the divine.
